With Summer coming to a close, I’ve realized how much my 80/20 eating lifestyle has shifted. What began as allowing some of the less healthy foods into my diet 20% of the time – snacks, chips, alcohol (hello, beach bum days with the kids!) – has become less fresh leafy greens and more tortilla chips. Luckily, all is not lost and a detox will set me straight again on my path of health & wellness.
I will be starting my month of elimination on Tuesday (because I need one last hurrah for the holiday, right?). If you’re curious about what an elimination diet entails (bye bye gluten, sugar, dairy), please follow along as I attempt to journal my daily meals, insights, and progress. Note: I will be doing the Arbonne 30 Days to Healthy Living program, which I’ve done before with great success. While I do eat healthy for the most part, it’s been 2 years since I’ve done this so I anticipate a challenge in transitioning my tastes, habits, and focus.
Here’s my before shots, just because this is really the only way along with measuring bicep, thigh, and waist that physical change can be measured. However, my main goal here is not, I repeat NOT to lose weight, but to get healthier. I’ve also included facial befores without makeup because I’d like to see the change that will inevitably happen with my skin by eating a healthier diet. PS, I would like more jawline definition, so let’s see if that happens 🙂
I will continue my early am Hot Yoga workouts 3-4 times a week, daily walks pushing the boys in a stroller, occasional bike rides towing the boys, and will try to add in a 3 mile run once a week (I’ve been trying to get back into the habit). I look forward to sharing my experience with you, as well as getting back on track.
